I studied Computer Science and Business Administration at the University of Mannheim from October 2000 till March 2005.
From September 2002 to June 2003 I have studied MIAGE at the University of Nice, I was foundationer of the ERASMUS program.
I wrote my Diplomarbeit from October 2004 to March 2005 at Institut Eurécom in Sophia-Antipolis.
From April 2005 till December 2008 I've been working towards my "co-tutelle" PhD. I was a research associate at the Institut Eurécom and at the Lehrstuhl "Praktische Informatik IV" in Mannheim. My Ph.D. advisors were Prof. Dr. Ernst Biersack and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Effelsberg.
In my thesis on peer-to-peer networks I have been looking at network virtual environments which are an application that profits of unstructured peer-to-peer networks. To build such virtual worlds in a peer-to-peer way I have proposed a set of distributed and dynamic algorithms. Furthermore, I presented measurement techniques and extensive measurement results on a real-world, large-scale peer-to-peer file sharing network, namely Kad, which relies on a distributed hash table (DHT), a structured peer-to-peer network.
