Presentation of the seminars:

Time/Date: We will present all seminars on one day during the semester. The date will be announced during the initial meeting.
Room C 112, Building A 5, 6

The topic of the seminar is procedural content generation for computer games. We will discuss algorithms to automatically generate content for games. E.g., when you create a tree in a modeling tool you do not want to use the same tree in your computer game again and again. Because modeling hundreds of different trees is not feasible at all, algorithms for content generation are used today. We will discuss different topics like:

  • Introduction to procedural content generation for computer games
  • Procedural generation of vegetation
  • Procedural generation of (multi-story) buildings
  • Procedural generation of believable human characters
  • Procedural road map and city generation
  • Procedural quest generation

Date and time of the presentations:

  • Monday, November 14, 2016
  • Blocks: B1 (8:30 a.m.), B2 (10:15), B4 (1:45 p.m.), and B5 (3:30 p.m.)

More details about the topics will be presented during the initial meeting. The topics will be assigned during this meeting.

When presenting their topic, all students will give a talk (30 minutes) and will explain how the algorithms work.
