Description: Retargeting in general describes the process of adapting an image or video from one screen size/resolution to another screen size/resolution, often changing the aspect ratio as well. A typical example would be the adaptation of a widescreen movie to the display of a mobile device like a mobile phone, as most of the research focuses on the retargeting to a smaller resolution. On the other hand, the enlargement of PAL or NTSC resolution video to HD screens is also most relevant.

In this seminar, we will discuss different techniques for the retargeting of images and videos.
