Short bio

Vasily Mikhalev received two M.Sc. Degrees with Honors: in Informatics and Computer Science with a major in Artificial Intelligence from  Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnic University (Russia); and in Computer and Information Engineering with the major in Cryptography from the City University (London).

In 2010-2011 Vasily was working as a Lead engineer at Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnic University in the Department of Distributed Intelligent Systems. Since  2012 he has joined the Theoretical Computer Science and IT Security Group of the University of Mannheim (Germany) where he is doing research in the area of the Lightweight Cryptography.

From September 2016 to May 2017 Vasily spent at SAP Labs France, working on development and implementation of a data protection scheme for low-power networks (LPNs). The co-research project between SAP, Pepperl&Fuchs, BASF, City of Antibes and University of Mannheim was presented at the German National IT-Summit  Digital-Gipfel 2017
