Curriculum vitae

Thomas Haenselmann studied computer science and business administration at the University of Mannheim. After his PhD in the field of image segmentation he was granted a C1 position for finishing his 'habilitation' (on Video Sensor Networks) to obtain the venia legendi (permission for academic teaching in Germany). During this time, he also worked as a visiting lecturer at the Reykjavik University in Iceland and as a research fellow at the National University of Singapore. In the winter-term 2008, he taught on behalf of Prof. Reinhard Wilhelm at the department 6.2 of the Saarland University.

In 2011 he got a tenure position at the University of Norway. Today, he works at the University of applied sciences in Mittweida, Germany.


Since 2004 he has been a member of the Technical Program Committee (TPC) of the ACM Multimedia and he serves as associate editor for the Springer Multimedia Systems Journal. For 2010 he has been invited as a guest editor for the ACM TOMCCAP (Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications and Applications) special issue on Multimedia Sensor Fusion.
